Reasons for Choosing Universal Thermal Services Inc Calibrations
Our calibrations are a sure way to find where the failures are located. We provide you technical service at calibrations! We are looking for leaks and system issues!
Universal is in our name because we perform technical services and calibrations on all manufactures equipment. Thermal is in our name because we have invested 33 plus years of technical study into this thermal spray industry. Services is in our name because we have someone on our team that knows a solution to any & all problems you may encounter.
Our professional expertise has come from this industry and is offered back with passion, willing and desiring to helpyou and your company solve technical thermal spray issues!
1] We calibrate with the actual gases using our N.I.S.T. [National Institute of Standards & Technologies] calibrated equipment. OEM uses only Nitrogen! Other OEM does not check flows through their orifices.
2] Check for leaks and repair any found. We are concerned for everyone’s safety and the coatings remain true!
3] Each gauge or meter is verified and adjusted as necessary.
4] Check flows from 5 to 10 points depending on meter range; the others check 4 points only.
5] Provide Sulzer Metco’s “Flow Conversions” at different pressures from spec are used in parameters. Speciation’s are stamped on the tubes scale. We use the Metco conversions to calibrate with, these were at one time published on their web site.
6] Our graphs are colored of the: Set Point, As Found, As Left values; Others use black and white graphs.
7] We show + or – SCFH and Pressure deviations from any Set Point.
Show + or -, % of Deviation of Full Scale. Color code: up to 3% Green [Good], 3.1 to 5 % Orange [Acceptable Caution], 5.1% and over as Red [Fail].
If Mass Flow Controlled System the color code is: up to 2% Green [Good], 2.1 to 3.0 % Orange [Acceptable Caution], 3.1% and over as Red [Fail].
8] Our certs link all the information: the cert #, customer, console, serial #, NIST instruments, and booth to each of the consecutive sheets by loading the information once on the top sheet of the cert. The Form#, Rev# and related Work Instruction# are also on the top of our cert master.
On every cert master we have added any important information a Quality Personnel has ever asked us to provide them on our cert. In addition to the above we include individual Device IDs of gauges, meters, and flow meters, if required.
9] When in a customers facility for calibration we help train operators in thermal spray questions they may have.
10] If a critical orifice system, we provide the customer with the flow, in scfh, through each orifice at given pressures. No other company does this that we are aware of. We have found plugged orifices.
11] We stock 2 of everything we calibrate; If something failed calibration that can’t be adjusted, we will have a new one flown in next day air. If it can’t get there while our technician is at your facility, it will be calibrated in our lab and then sent in to your maintenance department for installation. We will provide an updated cert after the installation has been completed. Note: It Must Be Gas Tight After Installation!
